This years „14th Festival Mallorca Jazz“ concludes today at 10.30 p.m. with a concert of the „Jimmy Weinstein’s Travelling School Band“ at the Plaça of Sa Pobla.

Last night I felt perfectly prepared to watch the meteor showers (they call it here “The Tears of San Lorenzo) and to take some pictures eventually.
Every year I promise it to myself

And?

Nothing!

Banks of clowds did spoil my adventure, … and the storm almost did blow me off the roof …

What do I have today?

Maria Guleghina (Sopran) & Massimiliano Bullo (piano) at 10 p.m. in the Claustre de Sant Domingo of Pollensa.
It’s a concert of the Festival de Pollensa 2008.

In Sa Pobla the „Nicholas Payton Trio“ with Nicholas Payton trumpet, Vicente Archer double bass and Kendrick Scott at the drums.

Mestizo Café: »mestizo roots« - disco 90’s with „Pereta“.

Pollensa, Claustre de Sant Domingo, at 10:00 p.m. within the cycle of »Festival de Pollença 2008«:

»Somnis d’Orient« with „Concierto Köln“ & „Ensemle Sarband“.

In Sa Pobla at 8 p.m. start of the exhibition »Retalls de Jazz« by Mario Taipe in the Sala es Cavallets (Plaça Major, 14) to be followed by the opening of the »14th Festival Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla«, today with „John Zorn Acustic“ & “Uri Cane“ at 10.30 p.m. at the Plaça Major.
